Workspaces and members
Create Astell workspaces, invite your team, manage roles, and administer workspace settings.
A workspace is the shared container for one team: its connected integrations, ingested data, members, Loops, and billing. Most teams need exactly one. You can belong to several workspaces (for example, your company and a client project) and switch between them from the workspace menu.
Create a workspace
Open the workspace menu and choose Create new workspace. Your first workspace is created during onboarding.
Enter a name (usually your company or team name) and a slug. The slug is the workspace's identifier in URLs; it uses lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens.
Optionally add your organization's website. Astell uses it to understand your company context.
Roles
Every member of a workspace has one role:
- Owner: full control, including billing and deleting the workspace.
- Admin: manages members, integrations, and workspace settings.
- Member: uses the product: search, chat, Loops, and the data they have permission to see.
Astell's answers are permission-aware: members only see content from sources they can access. See Security practices.
Invite and manage members
Go to Workspace settings → Members.
Invite teammates by email and pick their role. Pending invitations are listed until they are accepted, and you can resend or revoke them.
To change a member's role or remove a member, use the member's row actions in the same list.
Workspace settings
Workspace settings collects everything an Owner or Admin operates:
- General: name, slug, and workspace profile.
- Members: invitations, roles, removal.
- Integrations: workspace-linked accounts and their sync controls. See Integrations and syncing.
- Data ingest: what gets ingested automatically, plus the job history of every ingestion run.
- Usage: the workspace's token usage for the current cycle, per member and per feature. Usage on paid plans is informational; nothing is blocked when you pass it.
- Billing: plan, seats, payment methods, and invoices. See Plans and billing.
Delete a workspace
Deleting a workspace permanently removes its ingested data, Loops, and settings for every member. Only an Owner can do it, from the danger zone at the bottom of workspace settings. This action cannot be undone.
